Honda has become a popular brand that’s well known around the world. The Honda motor company is probably most famous for Honda Cars but it’s also a primary producer of motorcycles. After its birth in Japan the company has spread its tentacles all over the world and you would be able to see Honda vehicles anywhere.
Those enthusiastic ‘car lovers’ might might be pleased to hear that there are a number of Honda Cars that would be obtainable in 2010. The bad news is that you would have to wait for some time to get your hands on those cars.
The story of Honda Cars is one that is very inspiring and challenging. The rags to riches story of Soichiro Honda is one that probably many of you are familiar with. His journey from a mechanic to a multi-millionaire through the ashes of the Second World War has warmed many a heart.
Honda Cars like the S2000, Accord, Civic, CR-V and Insight are now quite a common sight and a range of Hybrid cars have also been available from around 2002. The production of such cars has been limited due to the limited availability of hydrogen filling stations throughout the world especially in developing countries. This venture however has shown the versatility of the company together with its ability to feel the pulse of the consumers.
Honda was also a ground breaking Japanese auto manufacturer to produce a luxury brand. In 1986 the company initiated the luxury brand Acura. The sports car S500 became the first Honda Car to be produced by the company. The company has not not restricted itself to the mere production of vehicles and has even produced their very own robot ASIMO in 2000 through its involvement in robotics research.
Honda Cars have become more competitive in the market due to their superior fuel efficiency factor. With awareness increasing about global warming this is one factor that could have increased the appeal of Honda. There is evidence that increase in oil prices have lead to an increase in demand for Honda Cars. Even at the factory level the flexibility of the company has boosted its success.
Honda has not been exempt from the list of the victims of the recession. Sales of even Honda Cars dropped but with future forecasts seeming to be positive the future for this exceptional company appears to be a promising one.
